Job summary

About Us

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Client Manager to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Analyse clients business and tax affairs to ensure they receive professional, timely, and tailored service, including pre-year-end planning, management information, and ongoing advice.
  2. Manage client interactions with the practice, ensuring access to all relevant services and specialists, and maintaining accurate, accessible client records.
  3. Review technical work produced by staff, including bookkeeping, VAT returns, payroll reports, management accounts, financial accounts, and corporate and personal tax returns. Ensure errors are corrected and identify training or support needs.
  4. Resolve client queries and issues, keeping the Managing Director and other managers informed of complaints to maintain records and improve procedures.
  5. Ensure client work is completed within budget, fees are raised appropriately, additional time is billed, and expected profit levels are achieved.
  6. Monitor client accounts to ensure timely payment, advise on clients in financial difficulty, and follow procedures for prepayment and fee notifications.
  7. Identify opportunities for one-off planning work and commission the appropriate specialists to deliver high-quality advice.
  8. Identify clients at risk of leaving the practice and notify the Managing Director and Money Laundering Reporting Officer to allow recovery or proper de-registration.
  9. Highlight problems in account production or procedures and liaise with management to resolve issues and improve systems.
