Job summary

Trail Balance in Burnham-on-Sea is seeking an experienced Client Manager to own a varied client portfolio and help lead the practice. The role offers flexibility and the chance to shape how the business evolves, with a culture that values ideas and collaboration.

The successful candidate will manage a diverse client base, review accounts and tax work, and mentor junior team members in a forward-thinking firm investing in technology and people.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with strong experience in an accountancy practice.
• You’ll have experience managing your own client portfolio and will review accounts and tax work, while supporting junior team members.
• Strong organisational skills, commercial awareness and a proactive approach are key.

Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of limited companies, sole traders and partnerships, acting as the primary point of contact
• Building long-term relationships with clients, providing proactive accounting, tax and business advice
• Reviewing statutory accounts, corporation tax, personal tax and VAT work
• Leading, mentoring and developing a small team of accountants and trainees
• Working closely with the Partners to improve processes and enhance the overall client experience
• Supporting the continued adoption of cloud technology and modern working practices across the practice
• Identifying opportunities to add value and further support your clients as their businesses grow

As part of their continued growth, they're looking to recruit an experienced Client Manager to take ownership of a varied portfolio of clients, whilst playing a key role in the day-to-day leadership of the practice. As Client Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Managing a portfolio of limited companies, sole traders and partnerships, acting as the primary point of contact

The successful Client Manager will:

Be ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with strong experience gained within an accountancy practice environment.

You’ll already have experience managing your own client portfolio and will be confident reviewing accounts and tax work, whilst supporting and developing more junior members of the team.

Just as importantly, you’ll enjoy building relationships, embracing new technology and looking for ways to continually improve how things are done. Strong organisational skills, commercial awareness and a pro-active approach will all be key to your success.
