Job summary

Bell Cornwall Recruitment is recruiting an ambitious Bookkeeper for a growing accountancy practice in Sutton Coldfield. You will handle sales and purchase invoices, VAT returns, bank reconciliations and year-end client accounts, with a focus on accuracy and timely delivery.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of bookkeeping experience, is proficient in Xero or Sage, and comfortable visiting client premises to gather information and respond to queries.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of bookkeeping experience, including VAT preparation.
• Experience using Xero or Sage accounting software.
• Excellent attention to detail and high accuracy.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage priorities.

Responsibilities

• Processing sales and purchase invoices and bank transactions.
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
• Carrying out regular bank reconciliations and investigating discrepancies.
• Maintaining accurate financial records and preparing client accounts for year-end.
• Responding to client queries by phone, email and in person.
• Ensuring bookkeeping records are accurate and up to date.
