Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Associate Renewable Energy Design Engineer to join our UK-wide advisory team in Truro, London, Edinburgh and Bristol. You will lead FEED, IE, OE and TA assignments across the full project lifecycle from concept to construction and financing.

You will manage risks, schedules and documentation, review contracts and financial models, and lead client meetings with developers, lenders and EPCs.

Qualifications

• Sufficient experience in renewable energy (IE/OE/TA, development, construction, O&M, or M&A).
• Experience supporting projects through financial close with lenders or investors.
• Strong understanding of project delivery, contracts, and risk management.
• Degree or equivalent in electrical or civil engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects independently.
• Proactive, organised, solution-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver FEED, IE, OE, and TA assignments across full project lifecycle from concept to construction, financing and acquisition.
• Manage project delivery for project finance, tax equity, sales, and acquisition mandates.
• Review technical and commercial documentation including contracts, schedules, and financial models (CAPEX/OPEX).
• Conduct site visits, construction monitoring, and witness testing.
• Manage risks, schedules, deliverables, and documentation across multiple projects.
• Produce high-quality technical advisory reports outlining risks and recommendations.
• Support clients with contract administration, variations, and claims.
• Lead client and stakeholder meetings with developers, lenders, EPCs, investors and internal teams.
• Lead Pre-FEED and FEED design teams for wind, solar and BESS projects.
• Lead Owners Engineering service delivery.
• Use your existing network to provide Business Development support for Stantec.
