Job summary

Addepar UK Ltd. is seeking a Software Engineer - Customer Facing Applied AI in Edinburgh to build agentic AI systems for strategic clients. You will work closely with clients to understand domains, prototype capabilities, and ship production-ready solutions with core engineering.

The role emphasizes designing agent behavior, integrating tools, and delivering reliable AI-powered workflows while collaborating with the product and engineering teams. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

Professional software engineering experience.
Proficient in Python and data workflows.
Experience with LLM APIs and tool integrations.

Responsibilities

Build AI-powered agents and tools end-to-end with clients and domain experts.
Design and implement LLM integrations including prompt engineering and function calling.
Define evaluation criteria and build test harnesses for AI systems where correctness is ambiguous.
Work directly with clients to understand workflows, validate AI behavior and iterate toward production.
Partner with core engineering to generalize client work into product features.
Contribute to shared AI infrastructure (agent frameworks, tool integrations, deployment pipelines).
Monitor and maintain production AI systems with focus on reliability, cost, and performance.
