Job summary

Indicium AI is hiring for a Forward Deployed Software Engineer to embed with client engineering teams and transform how they build software with AI-native development, Claude Code integration, and agentic tooling. You will shape workflows, review processes, and production pipelines, delivering measurable improvements in delivery speed and quality.

You will collaborate with top-tier clients in the UK, operating at senior engineering leadership levels, and you will help scale AI-native practices

Qualifications

• Passion for how AI transforms software engineering and hands-on use of Claude Code or similar tools.
• Experience in a client-facing technical role with external stakeholders.
• Strong skills in Python, TypeScript, or Java across AWS, Azure, GCP.
• Enterprise experience navigating large engineering organisations and compliance.
• Vertical depth in Financial Services, Energy, or Healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Lead engagements that transform enterprise engineering through embedded co-engineering and handover.
• Design AI native development workflows: Claude Code integration, agentic coding, AI-augmented testing, and automated review.
• Define operating models for AI native engineering across client organisations and scale best practices.
• Co-engineer with client product teams and integrate new ways of working into codebases and cadence.
• Own the client technical relationship at senior engineering leadership level.
• Navigate procurement, security, resistant teams, and shifting priorities without losing delivery momentum.
• Identify and shape new opportunities within existing client relationships as commercial awareness is part of the role.
• Codify repeatable patterns and playbooks for AI native engineering transformation at scale.
• Mentor engineers on engagements and raise the bar for the practice.
• Work with Anthropic field teams on joint client engagements representing Indicium AI.
