Rutherford Cross is supporting a growing business in Glasgow to hire a Client Accountant. This role offers exposure to budgeting, reconciliations, client accounts and a collaborative finance team. You will develop alongside an experienced Finance Director and gain varied experience across finance operations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a finance role, such as Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant or Assistant Accountant.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Confident communicating with a range of stakeholders.
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Good Excel skills and experience working with finance systems.
• Ambitious and keen to grow your career within a supportive business.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and reconciliation of budgets across a portfolio of developments.
• Support quarterly billing processes and client account reviews.
• Prepare and reconcile sinking fund balances and interest postings.
• Process sinking fund reimbursements and development-specific financial activities.
• Carry out insurance reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Review utility costs and assist with financial analysis and cost queries.
• Manage client funds, including transfers, refunds and account adjustments.
• Support bespoke financial projects and ad hoc deliverables across the business.
• Build strong relationships with clients, contractors and other stakeholders, responding to financial queries and resolving issues.
• Prepare and process developer and client invoices.
• Manage purchase ledger payment runs and supplier payments.
• Process contractor invoices and amendments.
• Reconcile client bank accounts and maintain accurate financial records.
• Set up and administer direct debits.
• Process telephone and cheque payments.
• Download and maintain bank statements and supporting financial documentation.
• Process recurring monthly charges and routine accounting transactions.
