Job summary

Impact Recruitment Services' client, a well-established modern accountancy practice in Northamptonshire, is seeking a proactive Client Accountant to manage a portfolio of SME clients, delivering accurate accounting, tax and compliance services.

You'll build strong client relationships, provide commercial advice, and work in a collaborative environment with mentoring for junior staff. The role offers a competitive salary, quarterly bonus and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of statutory accounts preparation and management accounts.
• Experience managing your own portfolio of clients.
• Good understanding of corporation tax and VAT.
• Confident using cloud‑based accounting software such as Xero and QuickBooks.
• ACA, ACCA or AAT qualified/part‑qualified would be advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build credibility with clients.
• Commercially aware with a proactive and client‑focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.
• Preparing and reviewing year-end statutory accounts.
• Producing monthly and quarterly management accounts.
• Preparing corporation tax computations and returns.
• Reviewing bookkeeping and VAT returns completed by junior team members.
• Acting as the primary point of contact for client queries and financial advice.
• Conducting client meetings to discuss business performance and growth opportunities.
• Building and maintaining long‑term client relationships.
• Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team.

About The Role
