About the Role

Cobalt is excited to be working with a global real estate business based in London to secure a Client Accountant. Our client is seeking an experienced finance professional with a strong background in property accounting. The successful candidate will take ownership of the preparation and reporting of the property portfolio, including service charge, rent, and other operational costs.

Key Responsibilities

1. Preparing robust reports for clients, ensuring all SLAs and KPIs are adhered to.
2. Ensuring accurate reconciliation of service charge income and expenditure.
3. Serving as the point of contact for client queries, providing support and advice as necessary.
4. Acting as the internal point of contact for surveying colleagues.
5. Maintaining and overseeing the housekeeping of property and lease data on the financial database.
6. Managing client and property cash flow and funding.
7. Conducting annual property service charge reviews and liaising with the Asset Manager and Service Charge Team to ensure completion within best practice guidelines.
8. Instructing the Treasury department (following relevant approvals) regarding:

• Collection of monies
• Amendments to client accounts
• Payment of client property-related transactions
• General maintenance of client funds, e.g., tenant refunds

Required Experience

• Previous experience in client accounting.
• Financial and technical reporting experience.
• The ability to work in a varied and evolving department.
• Part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA).
• Excellent organization and communication skills.
• The ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the business as well as with clients.
• Confidence with a positive outlook.
• Ethical with strong integrity.
