Job summary

Brandon James in the Midlands is seeking a Clerk of Works to support residential projects across the West and East Midlands. The role requires experience as Clerk of Works or NEC Supervisor and solid knowledge of construction methods, materials and workmanship.

You will produce clear inspection reports, maintain site records, monitor the construction programme, attend meetings, and liaise with contractors and clients.

Qualifications

• Experience as Clerk of Works or NEC Supervisor required.
• ICWCI or MCIOB certification required.
• Residential project experience preferred.
• Produce clear inspection reports and maintain site records.
• Full driving license and strong reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify defects, non-conformance and areas of concern.
• Record and photographically document site progress.
• Monitor progress against the construction programme.
• Attend project, progress and site meetings.
• Liaise with contractors, consultants and client representatives.
• Support the team in resolving quality and technical issues.
• Ensure testing and inspections are undertaken and recorded.
• Escalate health and safety observations as needed.

An independent, growing multidisciplinary consultancy with a strong presence across the midlands is looking for a clerk of works to support them with resi projects across the West/East Midlands.

The Clerk of Works - Role and Responsibilities

• Previous experience working as a Clerk of Works, NEC Supervisor or in a similar construction quality role.
• ICWCI or MCIOB
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and workmanship
• Previous residential experience
• Previous consultancy experience beneficial
• Identifying and recording defects, non-compliance and areas of concern
• Producing clear and detailed inspection reports
• Maintaining accurate photographic and written site records
• Monitoring progress against the agreed construction programme
• Attending project, progress and site meetings
• Liaising with contractors, consultants, client representatives and other stakeholders
• Supporting the wider project team in resolving quality and technical issues
• Ensuring relevant testing and inspections are undertaken and appropriately recorded
• Monitoring health and safety observations and escalating concerns where appropriate
• Full driving license
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong written reporting and record-keeping skills
