Brandon James is recruiting a Clerk of Works for residential projects across the Midlands. The successful candidate will support a Midlands-based consultancy, overseeing quality control on West/East Midlands sites and producing meticulous inspection records.

Applicants should have Clerk of Works or NEC Supervisor experience, ICWCI/MCIOB accreditation, and a full driving license; strong reporting and attention to detail are essential. Salary around £50,000–£55,000 plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience as Clerk of Works, NEC Supervisor or similar construction quality role.
• Residential project experience required.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong written reporting and record-keeping skills.
• Full driving license is required.

Responsibilities

• Identify and record defects, non-compliance and areas of concern.
• Produce clear and detailed inspection reports.
• Maintain accurate photographic and written site records.
• Monitor progress against the construction programme.
• Attend project, progress and site meetings.
• Liaise with contractors, consultants, client representatives and stakeholders.
• Support the wider project team in resolving quality and technical issues.
• Ensure testing and inspections are undertaken and recorded as required.
• Escalate health and safety concerns when appropriate.

An independent, growing multidisciplinary consultancy with a strong presence across the midlands is looking for a clerk of works to support them with resi projects across the West/East Midlands.

The Clerk of Works - Role and Responsibilities

• Previous experience working as a Clerk of Works, NEC Supervisor or in a similar construction quality role.
• ICWCI or MCIOB
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and workmanship
• Previous residential experience
• Previous consultancy experience beneficial
• Identifying and recording defects, non-compliance and areas of concern
• Producing clear and detailed inspection reports
• Maintaining accurate photographic and written site records
• Monitoring progress against the agreed construction programme
• Attending project, progress and site meetings
• Liaising with contractors, consultants, client representatives and other stakeholders
• Supporting the wider project team in resolving quality and technical issues
• Ensuring relevant testing and inspections are undertaken and appropriately recorded
• Monitoring health and safety observations and escalating concerns where appropriate
• Full driving license
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong written reporting and record-keeping skills
