The role involves managing new build and refurbishment projects, with a strong focus on residential sector projects.

The business operates nationwide but is specifically looking to hire a Clerk of Works to manage sites in the Southern region. You will work alongside 4 other Clerks of Works, sharing sites based on location and capacity.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Conduct regular site visits, primarily in the south of the UK (including Essex, Kent, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, and Hertfordshire)
• Inspect contractors' work based on specifications, plans, and building regulations
• Prepare reports, including uploading photographs
• Identify and report defects
• Engage with clients, often in demanding situations

Desired Skills and Experience

• Experienced construction professional, such as a clerk of works, building control/warranty inspector, or site manager
• Previous experience in the residential sector is preferred
• Good knowledge of building regulations and ability to read construction drawings
• Report writing skills, with evidence potentially requested during interviews
• Strong client-facing skills, with demonstrable experience preferred

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

• CSCS Card or equivalent
• Construction, engineering, or project management qualifications are advantageous but not essential
