Job summary

Leonardo UK in Edinburgh is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Technician to join the Radar and Advanced Targeting line of business. The role focuses on the inspection and verification of microelectronic assemblies in a controlled cleanroom, applying MIL‑STD‑883 and IPC standards with high magnification inspection equipment.

The position is on-site with a 4 days on / 4 days off shift pattern. You will interact with Project, Quality and Engineering teams to improve methods, while supporting the

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical assembly of diverse range of assemblies.
• Monitor and adjust production processes or equipment for quality and productivity.
• Prepare and assemble materials.
• Set up and operate production equipment in accordance with current good manufacturing practices.

Responsibilities

• Work in a cleanroom environment to manufacture high value opto‑mechanical assemblies.
• Perform precision bonding and PCA soldering according to processes.
• Assemble products to time, cost and quality targets.
• Identify and pursue improvements to production methods and documentation.
• Interpret manufacturing planning and ensure effective handover to Project, Quality and Engineering.
