Job summary

Leonardo UK, based in Edinburgh, is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Technician to join our Operations team. The role involves inspecting and assembling high-value opto-mechanical systems in a cleanroom, with a 4-on/4-off shift pattern possible and on-site requirements.

You will work on radar, targeting, and avionic components, ensuring quality and adherence to MIL-STD-883, IPC standards, and GMP practices. Training is on-the-job, with opportunities to collaborate across functions.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical assembly of diverse range of assemblies.
• Monitor and adjust production processes or equipment for quality and productivity.
• Set up and operate production equipment in accordance with current good manufacturing practices and SOPs.
• Assist engineers in developing, building, or testing prototypes or new products, processes, or procedures.

Responsibilities

• Work in a cleanroom environment to manufacture high value, high accuracy opto-mechanical, opto-electrical & electro-mechanical assemblies through various production processes.
• Interpret manufacturing planning and adhere to procedures to time, cost and quality.
• Maintain effective communication with Project, Quality and Engineering functions.
• Ensure standard handover procedures and effective communication across products.
• Contribute towards investigation and analysis of development methodologies and future development paths.
