Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Cleaning Team Leader at the Mars manufacturing site in Castle Cary. This part-time, permanent role covers Saturdays and Sundays from 6:00am to 2:00pm, with a salary rate including standard and enhanced weekend pay.

You’ll supervise the cleaning team, coordinate daily tasks, and ensure high cleanliness, hygiene and safety across the site. You will work hands-on with the team, support new colleagues, and promote a strong health and safety culture while maintaining excellent

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning or hygiene experience, ideally in a manufacturing or similar environment.
• Experience leading a team is beneficial.
• Good understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Hands-on, proactive leadership style.

Responsibilities

• Lead the cleaning and hygiene team on a day-to-day basis.
• Coordinate activities to maintain high cleaning standards.
• Support training, induction and buddying of new team members.
• Promote a strong health and safety culture and Zero Harm mindset.
• Monitor cleaning standards and raise concerns as needed.
• Manage PPE stock and safety equipment records.

Job Title:Cleaning Team Leader
Location: Castle Cary
Contract: Permanent – Part Time 15 hours per week
Working Pattern: Saturday & Sunday 6:00am to 2:00pm
Weekend Rate:£20.10 per hour -The standard hourly rate is £13.40, with a time-and-a-half weekend enhancement, bringing the weekend rate to £20.10per hour

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and hands-on Cleaning Team Leader to join our team at the Mars manufacturing site in Castle Cary.

Supporting the Cleaning & Hygiene Supervisor, you’ll help coordinate the day-to-day activities of the cleaning team, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and safety are maintained across the site.

This is a hands-on role, so you’ll work alongside the team while providing guidance, supporting new colleagues and helping ensure cleaning activities are completed safely and to the required standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Report any safety, quality, equipment or maintenance concerns promptly
• Support the day-to-day organisation and leadership of the cleaning and hygiene team
• Take a hands-on approach, working alongside the team to maintain high cleaning standards
• Promote a strong health and safety culture and Zero Harm Mindset
• Support the training, induction and buddying of new team members
• Monitor cleaning standards and elevate any concerns to the Cleaning & Hygiene Supervisor
• Manage PPE stock, including maintaining records, ordering and issuing supplies
• Help create a positive, collaborative one-team environment

What We’re Looking For
