Job summary

Catshill Middle School is seeking a reliable Cleaning Supervisor to manage the cleaning team and help maintain a clean, safe environment for pupils and staff. The post sits within Catshill Federation and includes term-time duties plus one extra week, with hours 3:30pm–6:30pm, Monday to Friday.

The successful candidate will supervise staff, ensure standards are met, and assist with deep cleaning as required. A proactive, child-focused approach and safeguarding commitment are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning and/or supervising a cleaning team.
• Able to maintain high cleanliness standards.
• Organised, reliable, and able to work independently.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Willing to undertake COSHH, health and safety training.
• Experience in a school setting is desirable.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children.

• Supervise, support and motivate the cleaning team.
• Carry out cleaning checks and audits.
• Ensure cleaning supplies and equipment are available and maintained.
• Undertake general and deep-cleaning duties to a high standard.

• Follow health and safety, COSHH and safeguarding procedures.
• Maintain good working relationships with school staff.

Cleaning Supervisor Salary: SC2.4, starting on £13.05 per hour, pro rataHours: 15 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 3.30pm–6.30pmContract: Term time plus one weekReporting to: Site Manager & Business Manager

We are seeking a reliable, proactive and hardworking Cleaning Supervisor to join our school team at Catshill Middle School and help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for pupils and staff.Catshill Federation is welcoming, positive and inclusive. You will join a positive and extremely caring staff with a ‘can do’ attitude to change and development.The successful candidate will supervise and support the cleaning team, including monitoring standards, providing guidance and ensuring staff have the resources they need. You will also undertake general cleaning duties across the school, including classrooms, corridors, toilets and communal areas, as well as deep cleaning and other tasks as required.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Has experience of cleaning and/or supervising a cleaning team.
• Takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
• Is organised, reliable and able to work independently.
• Has good communication and teamwork & Interpersonal skills.
• Is willing to undertake relevant training, including COSHH, health and safety and safeguarding.
• A warm, friendly approach and a passion for working with children
• A proactive attitude and the ability to manage situations calmly and efficiently
• Previous experience in a school or childcare setting (desirable but not essential).
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
