Job summary

The University of Birmingham is seeking a Cleaning Supervisor within Campus Services to lead a large team of Cleaning Operatives, drive service excellence and ensure high cleaning standards across the campus.

You will coordinate with a Cleaning Support Supervisor, manage resources, and cover core hours from 6am to 6pm, with flexibility for events up to 10pm. Generous benefits include 40 days holiday and a pension scheme.

Qualifications

• Proven experience of leading a large team, ideally within cleaning or facilities management.
• Membership of BISCI or equivalent qualification, or willingness to obtain within 2 years.
• Experience of monitoring performance, recruitment, induction and staff development.

Responsibilities

• Lead a large team of staff to deliver high quality cleaning service across the area under your control.
• Recruit, train, develop and appraise staff; conduct PDRs and manage performance.
• Ensure service levels are met and maintain high standards of cleaning and safety.
