Job summary

York Teaching Hospital Facilities Management is seeking a Cleaning Operative for the Harrogate Renal Unit. Training will be provided; previous experience is not essential.

You will clean designated areas, operate cleaning machinery, and undertake specialist cleaning under supervision to prevent cross-contamination. The role requires English literacy, willingness to undertake training in cleaning procedures, infection prevention, water systems equipment, and general maintenance.

Qualifications

• Read, write and converse in English.
• Willing to complete qualifications and training in cleaning procedures.
• Willing to undertake infection prevention and control training.
• Willing to undertake water systems training.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness levels in a designated area according to the work schedule.
• Operate cleaning machinery and lift items safely as required.
• Undertake specialist cleaning under supervision and/or Nursing/Infection Prevention guidance.
• Use equipment and materials economically and stored securely to prevent cross contamination.
• Work with minimal supervision, prioritise tasks and maintain high standards.
