Job summary

NHFM is recruiting a cleaning operative for the Northumbria Specialist Hospital in Cramlington. The post supports a 24/7 cleaning operation across wards, departments and offices, ensuring high hygiene standards and patient safety. Salary is £25,272 pro rata annually, with enhanced rates for evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays.

The role mirrors NHS Agenda for Change terms and conditions with generous annual leave and a comprehensive benefits package. Full training provided as required.

Qualifications

• Basic Numerate & Literate Skills.
• NVQ Level 1 or 2 or equivalent.
• GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
• Basic Food Hygiene and/or Level 1 Food Safety Certificate or must be achieved within 6 months of start date.

Responsibilities

• Clean floor areas by vacuuming, mopping and spray cleaning.
• Carry out deep cleans where infection is present.
• Remove rubbish (domestic and clinical) from designated areas.
• Maintain high cleanliness standards in wards, departments, corridors and offices.
