Job summary

The City of Edinburgh Council is seeking a Cleaner to join our Facilities Management team. You will deliver a vital cleaning service across our estate to ensure our buildings are safe and inviting for staff and learners.

We offer secure permanent roles with flexible hours (10–36 hours), sessional posts, paid annual leave, and opportunities to progress to supervisory level; PVG checks may be required and further training provided.

Responsibilities

• Empty litter and recycling bins.
• Clean surfaces, internal glass, floors, furniture and fittings.
• Clean toilets and showers, replenish washroom consumables.
• Emergency and reactive cleaning as required.
• Care for and ensure cleanliness of all equipment used.
• Support cleaning tasks across other buildings when required.
• Meet cleaning specifications and cooperate with performance measurement.
