Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a Cleaning Operative in Stevenage to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment at a prestigious corporate site. You will perform deep cleaning across floors, washrooms, lifts and stairwells, and operate specialist equipment with proper training.

This full-time role offers 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm, with free onsite parking and access to Sodexo's employee benefits package, career development, and rewards for reliability and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in cleanliness.
• Good understanding of health and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Carry out deep cleaning across floors, corridors, washrooms, lifts and stairwells.
• Clean surfaces, doors, walls and high-touch areas to high standards.
• Operate specialist cleaning equipment with appropriate training.
• Undertake additional duties such as window cleaning and working at height, where required.
• Follow cleaning schedules, health and safety procedures and client requirements.
• Work efficiently, manage daily tasks and minimise disruption to occupants.
• Report hazards, maintenance issues and concerns to the relevant team.

We're looking for a reliable and proactive Cleaning Operative to join our team at a prestigious corporate client site in Stevenage.

You’ll play an important role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment, carrying out a variety of cleaning duties across the site. From deep cleaning floors and communal areas to operating specialist cleaning equipment, you’ll help ensure our high standards are consistently maintained.

What you’ll do

• Carry out deep cleaning across floors, corridors, washrooms, lifts, stairwells, changing rooms and other designated areas.
• Clean surfaces, doors, walls, skirting boards and high-touch areas to maintain excellent standards.
• Operate specialist cleaning equipment, including outdoor floor-cleaning machinery and indoor ride-on machines, following appropriate training.
• Undertake additional duties such as window cleaning and working at height, where required and subject to appropriate training and authorisation.
• Follow cleaning schedules, health and safety procedures and client requirements.
• Work efficiently, manage daily tasks and minimise disruption to building occupants.
• Report hazards, maintenance issues and any concerns to the relevant team.
