Job summary

ABM is seeking an experienced cleaner for Arena Shopping Park in Coventry. This permanent role involves delivering high-standard cleaning across indoor and outdoor areas to ensure a safe, tidy environment for shoppers and retailers.

You will perform dusting, mopping, waste collection, restroom cleaning, and assist the team to uphold service quality. Benefits include a comprehensive support package and opportunities to progress within ABM.

Responsibilities

• Dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting and litter removal.
• Clean glass doors/windows and stainless-steel fixtures; remove chewing gum.
• Polish floors with ride-on scrubber dryer; maintain toilets and fixtures.
• Empty bins, manage waste, and assist with service yard organisation.
• Litter pick in car park; maintain equipment and restock supplies.
• Support supervisors and perform additional duties as needed.

LOCATION: Arena Shopping Park, Coventry

SHIFT PATTERN: 37.5 hours per week, 5 out of 7

ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE

This is a permanent contract. Arena Shopping Park is an indoor and outdoor shopping centre housing over 35 retail shops and restaurants. We are looking to appoint an experienced cleaner to help provide a well maintained, clean and tidy shopping environment. The customer experience should be at the heart of everything you do.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As an ABM cleaning operative your role will be to deliver cleaning services to client facilities in and around the building to a high standard, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, removing litter, cleaning glass doors/windows, cleaning stainless-steel fixtures and bollards, and removing chewing gum.

Using a ride on floor scrubber dryer to polish and clean floors

Cleaning public toilets, cleaning and sanitising fixtures, cleaning mirrors, doors/walls and sinks, sweeping and mopping tile floors, and cleaning urinals.

Emptying bins, collecting waste from retailers, and compacting and organising waste in service yard.

Litter picking outside in car parking area.

Maintenance of cleaning equipment and re-stocking supplies.

Assist team supervisors when needed to ensure optimum service to clients.

Perform additional duties as needed, within reason.

Comply with training sessions delivered by the supervisor/line manager as necessary.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Good inter-personal and communication skills.

Ability to use own initiative to identify and prioritise tasks.

Ability to work alone and as part of a team.

Approachable and courteous manner.

ESSENTIAL

Cleaning experience in both an indoor and an outdoor setting

English fluency

Flexible approach to shift pattern starting as early as 6am and finishing as late as 9pm once a week.

DESIRABLE

Experience using a variety of cleaning machinery such as scrubber dryers, buffers, carpet cleaners, road sweepers.
