Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is hiring for a part-time cleaning role based in Essex Police Buildings. The role involves cleaning offices, toilets, kitchens, and cells to a high standard, with a 4-hour weekday pattern and enhanced rates for weekends and public holidays.

You will work both independently and as part of a team, maintaining equipment, and adhering to COSHH and confidentiality requirements. Flexible hours, training, and equal opportunities are provided.

Responsibilities

• Carry out cleaning duties to the specified standards across offices, toilets/showers, kitchens and general areas.
• Complete ad hoc tasks as requested by line manager.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and materials in a clean, orderly condition.
• Maintain confidentiality due to the nature of the work.
• Follow company policies and COSHH safety guidelines.
• Ensure handover of any outstanding work.
• Be flexible with working hours, including weekends and bank holidays.

About The Role

Working Pattern

WORKING 4 HOURS PER DAY MONDAY TO FRIDAY USUALLY MORNING (TIMES TO BE DISCUSSED AT INTERVIEW) MONDAY TO FRIDAY @ £12.71 PER HOUR SATURDAY @ £13.77 PER HOUR SUNDAY @ £14.77 PER HOUR PUBLIC HOLIDAY @ £19.00 PER HOUR PLUS PAID 1 DAY HOLIDAY

To provide a High Standard of cleaning within the Essex Police Buildings this would include the cleaning of Office Areas, Toilets/Showers, Kitchen Areas and General Cleaning of Cells.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure cleaning duties are carried out in accordance with the cleaning specification and work schedules including Custody but not Foul Cells.
• Complete ADHOC jobs as requested by your line manager
• Ensure all cleaning equipment and materials are maintained in a clean and orderly manner.
• Due to the nature of the work confidentiality is always required.
• Ensure company policies and procedures are always followed.
• Follow the safe use of chemicals guidance (COSHH).
• To ensure the handover of any outstanding work.

Experience

• Experience in working within a team as well as on your own – essential
• Knowledge of COSHH
• Previous experience within similar role.

Any other requirements

• Flexible approach to working hours, including working weekends & Bank Holidays
• Willingness to take any further appropriate training.

Additional Requirements

Due to the nature of this role, you will need access to a smartphone that can support our approved work applications for tasks such as clocking in and out (if you are required to use our time and attendance system for your role), viewing schedules, completing training and receiving work-related communications.
