Job summary

Sodexo Group is seeking a Cleaning Operative in Bishop's Stortford to maintain clean, safe environments for clients and customers. You will join a team, follow procedures and help uphold high hygiene and safety standards. Full training will be provided on equipment, products and site rules.

The role focuses on efficient cleaning, adherence to COSHH, GMP and client requirements, with opportunities to cover additional areas as needed and to progress within a supportive Sodexo environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working as part of a cleaning team.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Experience working in a standards or compliance environment.
• A strong understanding of hygiene, safety and cleanliness.
• The ability to follow procedures and site requirements.
• A proactive approach and good attention to detail.
• A willingness to complete all required training.

Responsibilities

• Clean allocated areas efficiently and to the required standards, including weekly and periodic tasks.
• Follow cleaning procedures, site rules and relevant client requirements.
• Use cleaning chemicals safely and in line with COSHH requirements.
• Safely operate cleaning equipment following training.
• Report faulty equipment immediately and ensure it is not used.
• Use safety signage, including wet floor signs.
• Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and appearance, including wearing the required uniform.
• Monitor cleaning stock levels and report when supplies need replenishing.
• Report hazards and Health & Safety concerns to your Supervisor or Manager.
• Attend required training courses and meetings.
• Provide cover in other areas during sickness and holidays when requested.
• Follow Sodexo policies, client site rules and statutory Health & Safety requirements.
• Comply with GMP and GxP practices, SOPs and required training.
• Complete mandatory training within the required timescales.
• Report and take appropriate action in the event of accidents, fire, theft, loss, damage or other incidents.
• Respond positively to reasonable management requests.

Join Sodexo as a Cleaning Operative, where you'll play an important role in maintaining clean, safe and welcoming environments for our clients and customers.

You'll be responsible for cleaning and servicing your allocated areas to the standards required by both Sodexo and the client. You'll work as part of a team, following established procedures and maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety and compliance.

Full training will be provided to ensure you're confident using the required equipment, materials and cleaning products.

What you’ll do
