Job summary

Oasis Academy Woodview in Birmingham is seeking a part-time Cleaning Operative to join the facilities team. The role covers 15 hours per week across 49.6 weeks per year, with a shift pattern likely 3pm–6pm, Monday to Friday. The position offers £12.52 per hour, with Local Government Pension and uniform provided.

Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential. You will work under the Cleaning Supervisor and in collaboration with the Facilities team to maintain a safe and hygienic

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning roles is preferred but not essential.
• Able to follow Health & Safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Carry out the cleaning of the premises under the general direction of the Cleaning Supervisor.
• Use cleaning materials appropriately and inform when stocks are low.
• Ensure that tools and equipment are in good working order, reporting any faults to the Cleaning Supervisor.
• Keep cleaners’ cupboards/lockers clean and tidy.
• Place cleaning signs in wet or unsafe areas.
• Attend essential Health and Safety or Safeguarding courses as determined by management.
• Undertake any other duties of a similar level and responsibility as required.

To start as soon as possible We are seeking a dedicated Cleaning Operative to join the team at Oasis Academy Woodview. The cleaning team, as part of the wider site team, is responsible for high quality effective cleaning services to ensure a secure, safe and hygienic environment for all building users. The Cleaning Operative will be working under the leadership of the Cleaning Supervisor and alongside the Facilities team. Previous cleaning experience is desired but not essential.

• To carry out the cleaning of the premises under the general direction of the Cleaning Supervisor.
• To use cleaning materials appropriately and economically; to inform the Cleaning Supervisor when stocks are low.
• To ensure that tools and equipment are in good working order, reporting any faults to the Cleaning Supervisor.
• To ensure that cleaners’ cupboards/lockers are kept clean and tidy.
• To ensure that cleaning signs are placed in any wet or unsafe areas.
• To undertake any non-routine cleaning tasks as instructed by Cleaning Supervisor.
• All cleaners are required to contribute to cleaning tasks during the schools holiday period.
• To always work to ALL guidelines, in relation to Health & Safety at Work Policy.
• To attend all essential Health and Safety courses or Safeguarding courses as determined by the management of the school.
• To undertake any other duties of a similar level and responsibility as may be required within your area of work.
• Undertake any other duty as reasonably requested.
