Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a Waste Operative in Belfast for a part-time, permanent position. The role offers 15 hours per week at £13.63 per hour, with duties including cleaning tasks, following safety policies, and maintaining a secure work environment on school premises.

Successful candidates will work as part of a team, adhere to quality and safeguarding policies, and complete required training. DBS checks and references are part of the process.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the designated area to an agreed level of cleanliness in line with the Contract and SLAs, carrying out daily/weekly/periodic tasks as directed by the Cleaning Supervisor.
• Ensure service is delivered effectively and to a high standard.
• Keep equipment clean, well maintained and in safe working order; report maintenance needs.
• Build positive relationships with customers and seek ways to improve and exceed expectations.
• Undertake any other related duties within the job holder's capability as required.

Location: Our Lady and St Patricks College, 120 Gilnahirk Road, Belfast, County Antrim, Northern Ireland, BT5 7DL

Main Duties

• Undertake successfully all training required to deliver the cleaning role.
• Work within a team and under their own initiative.
• Adhere to allMitie Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures.

• Maintain the designated area to an agreed level of cleanliness in line with the Contract and relevantSLAs, carrying out all daily weekly and periodic tasks as directed by the Cleaning Supervisor.
• Ensure that the service is delivered effectively and efficiently to a high standard.
• Ensure all equipment is kept clean, well maintained and is a safe working order.
• Report any maintenance requirements identified during cleaning tasks.
• Always maintain security – locking doors, following lost property procedures etc.

• Have a full knowledge and understanding of the designated cleaning area, including the agreed work specification and time allocated to facilities.
• Have a full working knowledge of all cleaning equipment, materials and approved chemicals used byMitie.
• Set a good example in terms of dress, behaviour, punctuality, and attendance.
• Ensure all Safeguarding Policies are always adhered to and raise any concerns in line with the Mitie policy.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

• Ensure contractors and external visitors comply with security and health and safety while on school premises.
• Build positive and productive working relationships with all customers, delivering excellent customer service and seeking ways to continuously improve and exceed expectations.
• To undertake any other related duties which are within the job holder's capability, according to the needs of the business.
