Job summary

Mitie Group is hiring a part-time Cleaner for Mithian School, Buckshead, St Agnes, Cornwall. The role involves 15 hours per week with a pay rate of 12.71 per hour. You will work on-site, adhere to Mitie policies, and support a safe, clean environment in a school setting.

Training is provided; you will be part of a team, with opportunities to develop best practices in cleaning and customer service while maintaining high standards and security on site.

Responsibilities

• Undertake training to deliver the cleaning role.
• Work within a team and under their own initiative.
• Adhere to Mitie Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures.
• Maintain the designated area to an agreed level of cleanliness in line with the Contract and relevant SLAs.
• Ensure service is delivered effectively and efficiently to a high standard.
• Keep all equipment clean, well maintained and safe.
• Report maintenance requirements identified during cleaning tasks.
• Maintain security by locking doors and handling lost property procedures.
• Have knowledge of the designated cleaning area, work specification and time allocated to facilities.
• Know cleaning equipment, materials and approved chemicals used by Mitie.
• Set a good example in dress, punctuality, and attendance.
• Adhere to safeguarding policies and raise concerns as per policy.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Ensure contractors and visitors comply with safety and security on site.
• Build positive working relationships with customers and seek service improvements.
• Undertake other related duties as needed.

Main Duties

• Undertake successfully all training required to deliver the cleaning role.
• Work within a team and under their own initiative.
• Adhere to allMitie Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures.

• Maintain the designated area to an agreed level of cleanliness in line with the Contract and relevantSLAs, carrying out all daily weekly and periodic tasks as directed by the Cleaning Supervisor.
• Ensure that the service is delivered effectively and efficiently to a high standard.
• Ensure all equipment is kept clean, well maintained and is a safe working order.
• Report any maintenance requirements identified during cleaning tasks.
• Always maintain security - locking doors, following lost property procedures etc.

• Have a full knowledge and understanding of the designated cleaning area, including the agreed work specification and time allocated to facilities.
• Have a full working knowledge of all cleaning equipment, materials and approved chemicals used byMitie.
• Set a good example in terms of dress, behaviour, punctuality, and attendance.
• Ensure all Safeguarding Policies are always adhered to and raise any concerns in line with the Mitie policy.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

• Ensure contractors and external visitors comply with security and health and safety while on school premises.
• Build positive and productive working relationships with all customers, delivering excellent customer service and seeking ways to continuously improve and exceed expectations.
• To undertake any other related duties which are within the job holder's capability, according to the needs of the business.
