Responsibilities

• Provides cleaning services throughout the hospital as assigned by supervisor/manager.
• Ensures high cleaning standards in clinical and non-clinical areas.
• Cleans ward areas according to schedule to minimise infection risks.
• Assists with cleaning during and after infectious outbreaks.
• Reports health and safety concerns to line manager.
• Maintains cleanliness of sanitary areas and thoroughfares.
• Performs ad-hoc tasks to ensure contractual compliance and patient satisfaction.

Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals Trust are excited to be recruiting for new Cleaning Assistants to maintain cleanliness within our hospitals and environments, contributing to a healthy patient experience. Whilst this can be a physically challenging role it reaps great job satisfaction in the knowledge post holders can make a real difference, ensuring that we provide the best possible environment to assist patient recovery. Please note that whilst we provide a 24/7 service we are currently recruiting for various part time roles, working days, evenings, nights and weekends. Availability will be discussed at any potential interviews

• Provides cleaning services in accordance with training, throughout the hospital as assigned by their Supervisor/Manager.
• Ensures high standards of cleaning within both clinical and non-clinical areas of the hospital. All areas are to be cleaned to the prevailing standards.
• Cleans ward areas according to a schedule ensuring the environment is to the highest standard, and that infection risks are kept to a minimum. For example; high dusting, damp dusting, floor area, fixtures and fittings, low dusting
• Responsible for cleaning during and after reported infectious outbreaks to reduce / remove the risk of infection throughout the hospital.
• Brings to the attention of the line manager any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that pose danger or risks to health and safety.
• Clean clinical & non-clinical areas (including sanitary areas and thoroughfares), ensuring the hospital is perceived as clean from the moment of entry.
• Carries out ad-hoc tasks as required by their supervisor to ensure the hospital remains contractually compliant
• Provides a great level of customer service to all patients, staff and various stakeholders
• We offer an extensive range of services, including cancer, pathology, surgery, and gynaecology to over 490,000 people in south west London and north east Surrey. We operate two busy general hospitals, Epsom Hospital and St Helier Hospital, and run services from other locations, including Sutton Hospital. We are also part of two innovative integrated care partnerships - Sutton Health and Care and Surrey Downs Health and Care. St Helier Hospital is home to the South West Thames Renal and Transplantation Unit and Queen Mary's Hospital for Children, while Epsom Hospital is home to the South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre (SWLEOC).
