Shrewsbury School is seeking Cleaning Assistants to join our on-site team on permanent contracts. Two roles are available: Role 1 Monday–Friday 7:00–14:00 (32.5 hrs/week) and Role 2 Saturday–Sunday 6:00–12:00 (12 hrs/week). The hourly rate is £12.81.

You will help keep all areas hygienic to a high standard, with full training provided. Benefits include enhanced pension, life insurance, access to school sports and library facilities, and a cycle to work scheme. Closing date: 6 November 2026.

Summary

Cleaning Assistants Permanent

We are looking to recruit 2 x Cleaning Assistants who are passionate about delivering an excellent cleaning service. Working across the School site, you will ensure that all areas are kept in a hygienic condition, ensuring a very high standard at all times.

The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a friendly and supportive environment and have an eye for detail with excellent standards of cleaning. Previous cleaning or work experience in a similar role would be an advantage, however full training will be given.

Role details:

• Role 1: Monday to Friday, working 7:00am to 2:00pm (30 minutes unpaid lunch break), totalling 32.5 hours per week. This is a full year role.
• Role 2: Saturday and Sunday, working 6:00am - 12:00pm, totalling 12 hours per week. This role is term time only, working 32 weeks of the year.

The hourly rate for both roles is £12.81 per hour.
