Job summary

West College Scotland in Clydebank is seeking a part-time Cleaning Assistant to work 17 hours per week across Monday and Thursday 6am–10am, and Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 6am–9am. The role focuses on delivering a clean, safe environment for staff and students.

The pay is Grade 1: £25,501 to £25,967 pro rata per annum, with a generous staff benefits package. All offers are subject to PVG checks and right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Experience cleaning in non-domestic environments.
• Basic understanding of Health and Safety at Work Act.
• Ability to work unsupervised and communicate effectively with colleagues, staff, students and the public.

Responsibilities

• Work with Team Leader Operations to deliver cleaning services and maintain high hygiene standards across College buildings.
• Clean surfaces, furnishings and fittings using the specified equipment and cleaning products.
• Adhere to Health and Safety guidelines and PVG scheme requirements.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, staff, students and members of the public.

The Cleaning Assistant will work with the Team Leader Operations in the delivery of a common, efficient, and cost-effective cleaning service and to achieve and maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the College’s buildings. The successful candidate will clean as appropriate all surfaces, furnishings and fittings using the specified equipment and cleaning products.

You must have a basic understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act and have experience of providing cleaning services within a non-domestic environment. You should also have experience of using a variety of cleaning/equipment and products and be able to work unsupervised. The successful candidate should also have the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, staff, students, and members of the public.
