Job description

Cleaner - St Andrews Primary

Location: Newport

Hours: 15 hours per week

Shift: 15:15 - 18:15, Monday to Friday

Salary: £12.26/hour

Newport Norse, a joint venture between Norse Group and Newport City Council, provides contract cleaning services across the local area. We are currently seeking an experienced Cleaner for St Andrews Primary in Newport. Your responsibilities will include maintaining the cleanliness, security, and upkeep of the site, along with performing various cleaning duties as required.

  1. Maintain high standards of cleanliness.
  2. Report any defects or issues to the Area Supervisor.
  3. Ensure all health and safety regulations are followed.
  4. Provide excellent customer service.

This is a part-time, temporary position working 15 hours per week. The shift pattern is Monday to Friday, 15:15 - 18:15.

Full training will be provided, even if you have no prior experience in the industry. Ideally, candidates will have:

  • Previous experience in cleaning or janitorial roles.
  • Knowledge of health & safety regulations relevant to the role, including the use of machinery and cleaning products.
  • The ability to work independently and manage your workload.
  • Excellent communication skills, with confidence engaging with the public and clients.
