Job summary

Neath Port Talbot Council is seeking a School Cleaner to join Team NPT at Maesmarchog Primary School. The role is term-time, 13.5 hours per week, and currently temporary until 31 December 2026 or until the post holder returns.

You will maintain high standards of cleanliness to ensure a safe learning environment. A full induction and training programme will be provided; Welsh language skills are not required. Salary is £13.27 per hour, with LGPS pension and benefits.

Responsibilities

Contract Type: Temporary covering absence initially until 31/12/2026 or on return of post holder (whichever is sooner)

Hours: 13.5 hours per week - 41 weeks per year - Term Time Working

Monday to Thursday 3:30 pm - 6:15 pm

Friday 3:30 pm - 6:00 pm

Location of post: Maesmarchog Primary School, School Road, Dyffryn Cellwen, Neath, SA10 9LB.

We are currently looking for a School Cleaner to join Team NPT.

You’ll join our excellent cleaning team that was shortlisted for the Best Service Team category at the prestigious APSE Awards. The team is responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the school to ensure pupils are able to learn in a clean and safe environment.

Some experience is necessary for the role, but all successful candidates will undergo a full induction and training programme.
