Job summary

Rochdale Borough Council is seeking a Cleaner in Charge to work at Brimrod Primary School, Rochdale. The role runs 26.5 hours weekly with early morning and afternoon shifts, term-time plus two weeks in summer for a deep clean. Overtime may be required to meet service needs.

You will maintain high cleanliness standards, assist with handyman tasks, and work independently or as part of a team while ensuring a safe environment and accurate records.

About the Role

Facilities Management are looking to appoint a Cleaner in Charge to work at Brimrod Primary School, Rochdale

The hours are 26.5 hours per week to be worked Monday to Friday 6.30am-8.30am, Monday to Wednesday 2.30pm-6.00pm & Thursday to Friday 3.00pm-6.00pm Term Time Only plus 2 weeks during the summer holidays for the deep clean. Additional hours maybe required to meet the needs of the service to which the appropriate overtime will be paid. Hours maybe subject to change to meet the needs of the service

About you

We are looking for someone who is a hard-working, energetic and honest person with excellent customer care skills and the ability to provide a quality service at this busy school.

The successful candidate will:

• Responsible for maintaining an excellent standard of cleanliness of designated areas in the building and duties will include toilets and associated facilities against an agreed cleaning specification and good attention to detail.
• Able to complete practical handy person tasks.
• Ability to work to tight timescales is essential and a flexible approach
• Be able to work independently using initiative and as part of a team
• Able to communicate clearly with and relate positively to all members of the school team.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety at work
• Ability to recognise the importance of ensuring a secure and safe environment of the site to include record keeping and the completion of compliance tasks.

Candidates who are unsuccessful after interview may be considered for casual caretaker/cleaner positions within Facilities Management. The hourly rate for a Casual Cleaner is £13.45 per hour.
