Job summary

Arriva Midlands North Limited is seeking a Cleaner Fueller Shunter in Tamworth. The role involves cleaning workshops and vehicles, refuelling the fleet for the next day’s service, and maintaining health and safety standards. Full training provided and a full UK driving licence is required.

Hours are 38 per week, with shifts 15:30–00:00 Monday to Saturday and 14:30–20:30 on Sundays. A competitive hourly rate (£13.21) and benefits are offered, including paid and unpaid breaks and career

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Ensure all workshop areas are clean and organised.
• Clean vehicles to Arriva standards and maintain records.
• Refuel vehicle fleet for next day’s service.
• Keep fuelling area clean and hazards removed.
• Daily sweeping and occasional deep interior cleans.
• Follow health & safety and company policies.

• Hours or work at 15.30 – 00.00 Monday to Saturday, Sunday 14.30-20.30


• 30 min unpaid and 15 min paid break, normally taken 21:15 until 22:00

If you don't have a PCV licence, no problem, we can do a \"local B shunt\" licence that allows you to drive buses on our sites.

The role will involve

• Ensuring that all areas of the workshop are clean, tidy and organised.


• Clean vehicles to comply with Arriva standards and ensure that all records are maintained correctly.


• Re-fuel vehicle fleet in readiness for the next days’ service.


• Ensure the fuelling area is clean and any hazards are removed prior to work.


• Carry out daily sweep and mop with deep interior cleans occasionally.


• To fully understand and comply with all company and statutory relating health & safety and working practices and all company working policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Previous experience would be advantageous however, full training will be given.


• Good communication skills.


• Team worker.


• Full UK driving license (Manual, 6 points or less).


• Ability to pass fit for a PCV pre-employment medical.
