Newcastle City Council is seeking reliable, friendly cleaners for Gosforth Library as part of Facility Services & Civic Management. 1 x 10 hours per week, 6:00am to 8:00am, Monday to Friday, at Regent Farm Road NE3 3HD. Training provided; no prior experience required.

Role involves cleaning designated areas using required equipment, with duties including emptying bins, mopping and vacuuming. basic English required due to chemical use.

Qualifications

• No experience required; full training provided.
• Basic written and spoken English required for chemical handling.

What we are looking for:

Newcastle City Council are currently looking for reliable and friendly people with a positive attitude to join our Facility Services team as a Cleaner. No experience is necessary as full training will be provided.

About the role:

Working as a team and using your own initiative, daily duties will involve cleaning designated areas such as corridors, classrooms, offices and toilet areas using required equipment. Whilst working to fixed deadlines, responsibilities include emptying bins, mopping and vacuuming floors, so regular stooping, bending and lifting will be required. To carry out these tasks, candidates will need to have a basic understanding of both written and spoken English due to the use of chemicals.

Facility Services and Civic Management work across the city and Gateshead providing building cleaning, caretaking, school meals and welfare catering services.

We have a large team of cleaners, cleaner supervisors, facility supervisors (caretakers), catering assistants, assistant chefs and chefs working various hours and shifts in schools and public buildings.
