Squire’s Garden Centres in the United Kingdom is seeking a friendly cleaner to help keep the centre spotless, ensuring customers have the best possible shopping experience. You will be line managed by the Garden Centre Manager and work across the Garden Centre and Restaurant.

Responsibilities include cleaning shopfloor, toilets, staffrooms and offices, hoovering, dusting, mopping and replenishing supplies, with strict adherence to health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Clean all areas including shopfloor, toilets, staffrooms and offices.
• Hoovering, sweeping and mopping tiled and carpeted floors.
• Cleaning, dusting and polishing surfaces.
• Replenishing handwash, toilet rolls and paper towels.
• Clearing and removing rubbish and emptying bins.
• Removing cobwebs and dust.
• Adhering to health and safety procedures and COSHH.
• Maintaining cleaning materials stock and ordering as required.
• Keeping equipment clean, maintained and organized.

We currently have a vacancy for a cleaner within our centre. This role is very important to the successful running of the centre, ensuring our customers have the best possible shopping experience.

You will be line managed by the Garden Centre Manager.

Rota: Every Sunday 08:00-10:30, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday 07:30-10:00

Main duties and responsibilities:

Responsible for the overall cleanliness of the centre in both the Garden Centre and the Restaurant, including, but not limited to:

• Areas to clean include shopfloor, toilets, staffrooms and offices.
• Hoovering/sweeping and mopping tiled and carpeted floor areas.
• Cleaning, dusting and polishing all surface areas.
• Replenishing handwash, toilet rolls and paper towels.
• Clearing and removing rubbish and emptying bins.
• Removing cobwebs and dust.
• Understanding and adherence of health and safety procedures and COSHH regulations.
• Maintaining stock levels of cleaning material and ordering new materials as required.
• Keeping the cleaning material area clear, tidy and ensuring the equipment is clean, maintained and well looked after.

• Employee Discount– 50% in Restaurants and 20% in Garden Centre on joining, increasing to 25% after 2 years’ service and 30% after 5 years’ service.

• RHS Membership or a Tree / Shrub –After 1 years service Squire's employees can choose either one tree or shrub to plant each year up to the value of £50 retail on the anniversary of your engagement or £50 towards RHS annual membership.
• Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) –After 2 years service employees are eligible to join an EAP, that gives them access to a range of wellbeing resources, etc.
• Retirement–After 15 years service if you are retiring and have over 15 years service, your contracted hours will be reduced by a fifth but your pay will remain the same for your final 3 months.
• Free Parking– Available to all employees in the designated parking areas on our site.
