Job summary

Mitie is seeking a Cleaner Supervisor at Cantell School in Southampton. The role is permanent, full-time, 40 hours per week, with shifts 06:30–08:30 and 15:00–22:00, Monday to Friday. You will deliver cleaning to contract standards, work with the team, and uphold safety and quality policies.

The successful candidate will have cleaning experience (training available), reliability, and the ability to work on a schedule with initiative. DBS checks and references are required as part of safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Undertake training to deliver the cleaning role.
• Work within a team and on own initiative.
• Adhere to Mitie quality, safety, health and environmental policies.
• Maintain designated areas to the required standard per contract and SLAs.
• Ensure service is delivered to a high standard and that equipment is kept clean and safe.
• Report maintenance needs identified during tasks.
• Maintain security and follow procedures for lost property.
• Know the designated area and work specification and time allocation.
• Know all cleaning equipment, materials and approved chemicals used by Mitie.
• Set a good example in dress, behaviour, punctuality and attendance.
• Adhere to safeguarding policies and report concerns as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Ensure contractors and visitors comply with safety on school premises.
• Build positive relationships with customers and seek improvements.

Main Duties

• Undertake successfully all training required to deliver the cleaning role.
• Work within a team and under their own initiative.
• Adhere to allMitie Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures.
• Maintain the designated area to an agreed level of cleanliness in line with the Contract and relevantSLAs, carrying out all daily weekly and periodic tasks as directed by the Cleaning Supervisor.
• Ensure that the service is delivered effectively and efficiently to a high standard.
• Ensure all equipment is kept clean, well maintained and is a safe working order.
• Report any maintenance requirements identified during cleaning tasks.
• Always maintain security - locking doors, following lost property procedures etc.
• Have a full knowledge and understanding of the designated cleaning area, including the agreed work specification and time allocated to facilities.
• Have a full working knowledge of all cleaning equipment, materials and approved chemicals used byMitie.
• Set a good example in terms of dress, behaviour, punctuality, and attendance.
• Ensure all Safeguarding Policies are always adhered to and raise any concerns in line with the Mitie policy.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Ensure contractors and external visitors comply with security and health and safety while on school premises.
• Build positive and productive working relationships with all customers, delivering excellent customer service and seeking ways to continuously improve and exceed expectations.
• To undertake any other related duties which are within the job holder's capability, according to the needs of the business.
