Job summary

Mitie is seeking a reliable Cleaning Operative to join our Croydon regional centre team. The role offers part-time hours (25 hours/week) with an hourly rate of £13.87, working Monday to Friday 5pm–10pm. Location: HMRC Croydon Regional Centre, Croydon, Greater London.

You will maintain high cleanliness standards, follow cleaning schedules, and support a welcoming environment for staff, clients, and visitors. Training is provided and uniforms are supplied.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning experience is essential.
• Ability to communicate and read basic English.
• Flexible and proactive approach to work.
• Uniform provided and full training available.

Responsibilities

• Ensure equipment is kept clean, well maintained, and in safe working order
• Meet all agreed SLAs and follow cleaning schedules
• Build knowledge of the designated cleaning area and understand cleaning equipment and chemicals used
• Follow Health and Safety requirements and complete all required mandatory training
• Work effectively both independently, and as part of a team, while delivering excellent customer service
• Cleaning offices, meeting rooms, kitchens, reception areas, and washrooms
• Vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and sanitising surfaces
• Emptying bins and disposing of waste appropriately
• Replenishing cleaning and hygiene supplies
• Maintaining cleanliness standards in communal areas
• Reporting maintenance or health and safety concerns when identified
• Following company cleaning procedures and regulations at all times
