Job summary

CareTech Community Services in Huddersfield is seeking a part-time Domestic Cleaner to join our team. You will help maintain a safe, clean environment across communal areas and bedrooms, following health and safety policies and procedures.

No formal cleaning experience is required, though COSHH knowledge or prior cleaning work is a plus. You will work independently within a supportive team, with a strong focus on high standards and resident well-being.

Qualifications

• No specific experience required; COSHH knowledge or health and safety awareness is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently with a positive, proactive approach to cleanliness.
• Willingness to handle domestic cleaning tasks and operate cleaning equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect bathrooms, communal areas, dining rooms, offices, and corridors.
• Dust, polish, vacuum, sweep, mop, and maintain floors and surfaces.
• Empty bins and dispose of waste safely.
• Maintain high cleanliness standards across the house.
• Follow health and safety and infection control procedures to ensure a safe environment.

Permanent | Part-time | 20 hours per week

The Role:

As a Domestic Cleaner, you will be responsible for helping to provide and maintain a safe, clean, positive environment. You will be working as part of a team to ensure that the residence and learning environment are all cleaned to a high standard following the health and safety policies and requirements.

You will be working within a homely environment with a responsibility for cleaning the communal areas and bedrooms this is not limited to but may include dealing with personal hygiene issues such as incontinence.

We are looking for someone who is able to work independently with a positive and proactive approach to obtaining high standards of cleanliness. We are looking for a self‑motivated, flexible and efficient individual who takes pride in their work and understands the important part they play.

We do not require any specific experience for this role, some knowledge of COSHH, health and safety in the workplace and/or previous cleaning experience would be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect bathrooms, communal areas, dining rooms, offices, and corridors.

• To ensure that high standards of cleanliness are maintained throughout the house.

• Be responsible at all times for your own and others Health and Safety.
