Barnsfold Liss Nurseries in Rudgwick is seeking a cleaner to maintain the nursery's facilities, ensuring cleanliness, safety and good order. You will be line managed by the General Manager.

The role offers a fixed rota: Tuesday and Friday 10:00-12:00, with flexible hours. Successful candidates will be friendly, reliable and capable of working independently as part of the wider nursery team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain overall cleanliness of the nursery, including staff areas and welfare facilities.
• Clean toilets, staff rooms and offices.
• Hoover, sweep and mop tiled and carpeted floor areas.
• Clean, dust and polish surfaces.
• Replenish handwash, toilet rolls and paper towels.
• Clear rubbish and empty bins.
• Remove cobwebs and dust.
• Follow health and safety procedures.
• Maintain stock levels of cleaning materials and order supplies.
• Keep cleaning materials area tidy and ensure equipment is well maintained.

Job description

Barnsfold Liss Nurseries is seeking a cleaner for our plant nursery in Rudgwick. This role is important to the successful running of the nursery, helping to ensure our facilities are kept clean, safe and well maintained.

You will be line managed by the General Manager.

Rota: Tuesday and Friday 10:00-12:00 (Flexible Hours)

Main duties and responsibilities:

You will be responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness of the nursery, including staff areas and welfare facilities. Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Cleaning toilets, staff rooms and offices.
• Hoovering, sweeping and mopping tiled and carpeted floor areas.
• Cleaning, dusting and polishing surfaces.
• Replenishing handwash, toilet rolls and paper towels.
• Clearing rubbish and emptying bins.
• Removing cobwebs and dust.
• Understanding of and adherence to health and safety procedures.
• Maintaining stock levels of cleaning materials and ordering new supplies as required.
• Keeping the cleaning materials area clean and tidy, and ensuring equipment is well maintained.

• Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)–After 2 years service employees are eligible to join an EAP, that gives them access to a range of wellbeing resources, etc.
• Retirement–After 15 years service if you are retiring and have over 15 years service, your contracted hours will be reduced by a fifth but your pay will remain the same for your final 3 months.
