Job summary

Squires Garden Centre in Twickenham, London, invites applications for a part-time cleaner to help maintain the centre and restaurant to high standards. You will join a friendly team and report to the Office Manager, with regular Tuesday and Friday morning shifts.

The role focuses on hygiene and tidiness across shopfloor, toilets, staff rooms and offices, with attention to COSHH rules and health and safety procedures.

We currently have a vacancy for a cleaner within our centre. This role is very important to the successful running of the centre, ensuring our customers have the best possible shopping experience.

You will be line managed by the Office Manager.

Rota: Every Tuesday and Friday 09:00-10:00

Main duties and responsibilities:

Responsible for the overall cleanliness of the centre in both the Garden Centre and the Restaurant, including, but not limited to:

• Areas to clean include shopfloor, toilets, staffrooms and offices.
• Hoovering/sweeping and mopping tiled and carpeted floor areas.
• Cleaning, dusting and polishing all surface areas.
• Replenishing handwash, toilet rolls and paper towels.
• Clearing and removing rubbish and emptying bins.
• Removing cobwebs and dust.
• Understanding and adherence of health and safety procedures and COSHH regulations.
• Maintaining stock levels of cleaning material and ordering new materials as required.
• Keeping the cleaning material area clear, tidy and ensuring the equipment is clean, maintained and well looked after.

• Retirement–After 15 years service if you are retiring and have over 15 years service, your contracted hours will be reduced by a fifth but your pay will remain the same for your final 3 months.
