Job summary

Haxby Road Primary Academy is seeking three part-time cleaners for evening shifts. Positions 1 & 2 are 17.5 hours weekly (Mon–Fri 3:15pm–6:45pm) during term time plus two weeks, and Position 3 is 12.5 hours weekly (Mon–Fri 3:30pm–6:00pm) during term time plus two weeks. All roles are permanent and paid at £13.28 per hour.

The role focuses on providing a clean, healthy environment for pupils and staff. Full training and support will be provided; teamwork and reliability are essential for success

We have 3 positions available.

Position 1 & 2 working hours: 17.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday 3:15pm - 6:45pm, to be worked during the school term time plus 2 weeks during the school term time

Position 3 working hours: 12.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday 3:30pm - 6:00pm, to be worked during the school term time plus 2 weeks during the school term time

The aim of the role is to provide a good quality cleaning service that is responsive to the needs of the school, resulting in a clean and healthy environment for pupils and staff. Some responsibilities may include, but are not limited to;

• Emptying waste bins


• Vacuuming, sweeping and mopping the floors


• Cleaning and disinfecting bathrooms


• Wiping down and dusting furniture


• Maintaining office/reception area

Job requirements

• To be able to work well within a team


• The ability to communicate well with everyone in the school community


• Excellent time keeping skills and be a reliable member of the team


• Experience would be beneficial however it is not essential as full training and support will be provided to the successful candidate
