Job summary

The Ecclesbourne School in Duffield, Derbyshire invites applications for a Classroom Support Assistant. You will work alongside teachers to support learning, promote inclusion and help students access high-quality teaching in a supportive, welcoming environment.

This term-time plus INSET role is paid at National Joint Council Pay Spine Point 4 (£26,016 per annum pro rata) for 32.5 hours per week across 39 weeks per year, with a 30-minute daily break.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Work alongside Teachers to support students’ access to learning across curriculum areas.
• Support students in understanding lesson objectives, instructions and activities, promoting independence.
• Use questioning and scaffolding to help students think for themselves.
• Encourage development of confidence, resilience, perseverance and learning habits.
• Assist with preparation and organisation of classroom resources and learning materials.
• Support students in the effective use of technology and specialist resources.
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive and positive classroom environment.
• Maintain high expectations of all students.
• Support students with SEND and other who require additional support to access learning.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school community.
