Job description

Job Title: Classroom Support Assistant

A Primary School based in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, is seeking an aspiring Teacher/LSA to join their team ASAP. This is a full-time position.

The school is currently looking for a Classroom Support Assistant to support the social, emotional, and academic development of students through evidence-based psychological assessments, interventions, consultations, and classroom support.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Identify learning, emotional, and behavioral needs of students.
  2. Develop and implement evidence-based interventions to address students' needs.
  3. Support school staff with behavior management and academic progress.
  4. Collaborate with parents, teachers, and professionals to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special educational needs.
  5. Provide support and training to staff on mental health, wellbeing, social-emotional learning, and behavior management.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • A degree in Psychology or a related field.
  • Knowledge of assessment and intervention methods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
