Job summary

Supply Star Recruitment Limited is seeking enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to join our education team in local secondary schools. This casual, temporary role offers ultimate flexibility: pick the days you want to work, from single mornings to full-time weekly bookings.

You do not need to be a qualified teacher as lesson content is provided. A DBS (Update Service) or willingness to apply, and eligibility to work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or teenagers aged 11-16 (e.g., coaching, mentoring, tutoring, camp leading, or volunteering).
• Excellent classroom management skills with a firm but fair approach.
• High adaptability and the ability to thrive in new, fast-paced school environments.
• Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for a new one through us).
• Eligibility to work in the UK and a minimum of two professional, checkable references.

Responsibilities

• Supervise lessons across various subjects using the work left by the absent teacher.
• Maintain good behavior and ensure a safe, positive learning environment.
• Assist students with their work and answer any general questions.
• Collect completed work at the end of the lesson and return it to the department.
• Follow school policies, including safeguarding and behavior management guidelines.
