Job summary

Overthorpe CofE Academy is seeking an Educational Teaching Assistant to support pupil learning under supervision. The role involves assisting with personal needs, classroom management, and helping pupils across various activities in line with school policy.

Salary ranges from £17,706.38 to £17,987.78 on Grade 4 Scale; start date is ASAP, with interview on 05/10/26 and closing date 28/09/26. The post includes duties before/after school and during lunchtimes.

Responsibilities

• Assist with pupils' personal needs (social, health, physical, hygiene, first aid, welfare).
• Supervise pupils to ensure safety and access to learning.
• Prepare and tidy the classroom for lessons.
• Assist with display of pupil work.
• Report pupil problems or behaviour to teacher per policy.
• Report pupil progress and achievements to teacher per policy.
• Support development plans as directed.
• Provide/collect routine information for parents under teacher direction.
• Support learning activities (literacy, numeracy, KS3, early years).
• Maintain equipment and resources.
• Assist pupils with using resources e.g., ICT.
• Supervise pupils before/after school and at lunchtimes.
• Participate in school visits as required.
• Undertake routine clerical duties (photocopying, dinner money).
