Job summary

Vision For Education Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support children who need extra help in a welcoming junior school in Waltham Forest.

You will assist with academic tasks and pastoral support, helping pupils regulate behaviour and engage with learning in a calm, safe environment. The role runs 08:30–15:30, Monday to Friday, with on-site parking and full guidance from a safeguarding-trained team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs/behaviour
• Experience in a Junior school setting
• Great team-working ethic and willingness to immerse into the school culture
• Commitment to supporting learners both academically and pastorally
• Knowledge of safeguarding/child protection updates

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Teaching Assistant who is driven and committed in supporting children that need extra help and support in class both academically and pastorally. The ideal Teaching Assistant would have experience of supporting those that may hail from backgrounds of trauma, and be skilled in de-escalating and regulating behaviour. Teaching Assistants will need to be well-versed in the safeguarding of children/child protection, and must be able to communicate effectively with the school SENDCO/DSL where necessary.

The school is an extremely welcoming and supportive 3-form entry Junior school in Waltham Forest. It is larger than average in size and boasts excellent levels of outside space and facilities. Supportive of the Arts, it also offers designated studios for both Art and Music.

Working hours are 0830-1530, Monday-Friday. On-site car-parking is on offer.
