The teacher will:

  1. Fulfil the professional responsibilities of a teacher as set out in the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document.
  2. Meet the expectations outlined in the Teachers’ Standards.
  3. Be responsible for the learning and achievement of all pupils in the class/group, ensuring equality of opportunity.
  4. Be responsible and accountable for achieving high standards in achievement, behaviour, and safety.
  5. Build respectful relationships with pupils and staff, observing professional boundaries.
  6. Collaborate effectively with learners, parents/carers, governors, staff, and external agencies for the benefit of pupils and community links.
  7. Use pupil voice to reflect on and improve practice.
  8. Be a reflective and honest practitioner.
  9. Act within statutory frameworks, including safeguarding, and in line with professional duties and responsibilities.
  10. Take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Qualified teacher status.
  2. Degree.
  3. Successful primary teaching experience.

Skills and Knowledge:

  1. Effective strategies and skills for high-quality teaching and learning.
  2. Good knowledge of the National Curriculum and its contribution to pupils’ development across various areas.
  3. Understanding of how children learn and the SEN Code of Practice.
  4. Effective planning for diverse learner needs.

  6. Adaptability in teaching approaches.
  7. Building effective relationships with pupils.
  8. Knowledge of safeguarding, behaviour management, ICT, and resource management.
  9. Understanding of health and safety and child protection procedures.
