Job summary

Meadow High School is inviting applications for a Class Teacher to join our inclusive, SEND-focused team at the Royal Lane (Hillingdon) site. This role requires QTS and a passion for delivering high-quality education to pupils with SEN. ECTs welcome to apply and training will be provided.

You will be active in tutoring a group, supporting EHCP reviews, and tracking pupil progress in partnership with families and specialists.

Qualifications

  • Must hold Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Experience in SEN settings preferred but training/support provided.
  • Friendly, resilient and adaptable to pupils with additional needs.

Responsibilities

  • Be a form tutor for a tutor group and conduct Annual Reviews of EHCPs.
  • Teach across a range of subjects with flexibility.
  • Contribute to safeguarding and child protection and ensure inclusive education.

Salary information: MPR, £37,870 - £56,154 per annum (dependent upon experience)+ SEN1 Allowance, £2,787 per annum

Meadow High School is a large and inclusive secondary school catering to pupils with a wide range of Special Educational Needs, including complex needs and autism. We are seeking a passionate, resilient, and enthusiastic Class Teacher to join our school community. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a school that works collaboratively to empower our pupils with lifelong skills and enables our young people to reach the highest levels of independence in adult life.

We are looking for an applicant who holds Qualified Teacher Status and preferably has experience in an SEND setting or working with young people who have learning disabilities. This is preferred but not essential as training and support will be provided.

The successful applicants will also be a form tutor to a tutor group and will be required to write and conduct Annual Reviews of their tutor group’s EHCPs as well as monitor pupils progress against the EHCP outcomes.

Ideal Candidates Will Have:
  • Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Experience working in an SEN setting (preferred but not essential – training and support will be provided).
  • A positive attitude, patience, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • An ability to teach across a range of subjects.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to teaching
  • A passion for teaching pupils with SEN.
  • A commitment to an inclusive environment and education to learners with additional needs.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection (training will be provided).
