Class Teacher

St Wilfrid’s Catholic Academy

Required for a September 2025 start

St Wilfrid's Catholic Academy is a primary school located in Tunstall, Stoke on Trent. As a 1.5 form entry Catholic school, we are part of the Newman Catholic Collegiate and were recently graded as 'good' in our last OFSTED inspection in April 2023. Our school community is committed to providing an inclusive and diverse learning environment that celebrates the unique talents and needs of every child.

KS1 or KS2 Teacher

We are seeking an excellent classroom teacher to join our dedicated team at St Wilfrid's Catholic Academy. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to make a significant impact on the lives of our pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils of all backgrounds, abilities, and dispositions.
  • Promote a love of learning and intellectual curiosity within your classroom.
  • Effectively plan and structure lessons to ensure the best possible learning outcomes.
  • Utilise a range of teaching strategies and resources to cater to the diverse needs of your pupils.
  • Regularly assess and monitor pupil progress, providing valuable feedback to support their continued development.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Be committed to actively upholding the Catholic ethos of our school.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Experience teaching in a primary school setting, with a proven track record of delivering successful lessons.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to create a safe, stimulating, and respectful learning environment.
  • A genuine passion for working with children and a desire to make a positive difference in their lives.

Desirable Qualities:

  • Ability to teach in either key stage 1 or key stage 2.
  • Experience in implementing effective scaffolding strategies to enable all pupils to access the learning.
  • Knowledge of the latest educational trends and pedagogical approaches.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
